Community Pharmacy Consultation Service
The emergency 'Morning After Pill' is available from us without prescription, please contact us for further information or ask to speak to Pharmacist in Private.
If you have any concerns about side effects or that your not using your inhaler correctly or your inhaler is not working correctly ask our Pharmacist for advice and support.
We can review all your medicines and discuss any issues or concerns you may have. The review aims to help increase your knowledge and understanding of the medication you've been prescribed including how, when and why they should be taken. It provides the opportunity for the Pharmacist to highlight any issues, side effects or other medicine related problems and propose solutions if appropriate and where needed pass on any information to your doctor when needed.
The Minor Ailments Service is a scheme which allows you to use your local Pharmacy to get advice and treatments for common illnesses such as coughs, colds, conjunctivitis, uncomplicated urinary infections, constipation, nasal congestion, sore throat, minor cuts, bruises and hay fever. Our Pharmacist can provide you with advice on treating these common conditions and if necessary, prescribe over the counter medicines. If our Pharmacist feels it is appropriate then they will refer you to a GP or another healthcare professional.
If you have been prescribed a medicine to treat a long-term condition for the first time, you may be able to get extra help and advice about your medicine from the Pharmacist through a new free scheme called the New Medicine Service. With this scheme the Pharmacist will support you over several weeks to use the medicine safely and to best effect.
The service is only available to people using certain medicines. In some cases where there is a problem apparent and a solution cannot be found between you and our Pharmacist you will be referred back to your doctor.
We can collect your prescriptions from Exwick Health Centre, St Thomas Health Centre and Foxhayes.
If collecting your prescription is difficult for you, we can help. We can collect your prescription from your doctor, prepare it and deliver it for free locally to our customers who are housebound.
We offer a full dispensing service, NHS and private, including ordering prescriptions on your behalf. Our electronic prescription service unsures that prescriptions are received directly without delay and we also visit Exwick Health Centre and Foxhayes daily.
If you regularly receive repeat prescriptions from your GP we can help make sure that you don't run out of your medicines. We will order your repeat prescription on your behalf and all you need to do is call in and collect your medicines.
If you use Stoma products, we can customise them so that they are tailored specifically to your measurements. This will make them more comfortable to wear and allow you to get longer use from each one.
